At the time of writing the finishing lines of my tarmac story yesterday, a big tarmac event was in its full swing at Gatwick, with Air India passengers locked on board Boeing 777 for over 8 hours. It will take a while until messy facts about the event are untangled, and much longer for passengers to understand who really cares about them.
